Moira is the Senior Security Chief at a huge international corporation, and she loves it. She can spy, bribe, and get off on both. She can also assign anyone working within her jurisdiction a moment in the security office, to have any impure, violent, or unprofitable thoughts and memories safely removed from their skulls.
She was never much concerned with where all those thoughts went to. Now she is about to find out.
There are many sides to the secret war that she finds herself drawn into. Some are friendly and may choose to help her; others may mean her harm. Outlawed and helpless, Moira can do little but follow instructions from those who claim to be on her side. The war may ultimately destroy everything she holds dear, and the time she has left is becoming a time of faith. Artificial intelligences are fighting for supremacy in every cable of the city. A disbanded clan of technologically-augmented Parliamentary leaders are struggling to reclaim power. Friends who were enemies and enemies who were friends will all become useless if the chaos comes to a head – the only real question is whether or not Moira will survive at all.
